We're number 1!
Front page Advocate headline Tuesday: Louisiana remains least healthy state in rankings. Shocking. No doubt many people read the story with a cheeseburger in one hand, a cigarette in the other, a Budweiser on the table and an order of bread pudding on the way.
This is the 15th year of the annual survey and Louisiana has been crowned grand-champion of fattydom (not to mention infant mortality, etc) 14 times! Who says we don't do anything right?
A closer look at the numbers shows that the top 10 least healthy states was a virtual Southern sweep. The only non-Southern state on the list is border-state West Virginia (on the wrong side of the War of Northern Aggression, but the right side of the Mason-Dixon Line).
Yet another feather in our cap of crapulence.

So, what you're saying is that any of us image-obsessed California things could head to LA for a real quick ego boost? Sweet! The UCD ARC Addicts will mount an expedition immediately. Get the carrot sticks and Diet Coke ready.
Yes, that is exactly what I meant! Thank you, Amber. And next time there's an opportunity to correct/tease/shame Heath, I call dibs.
