Hooters for Polluters
This is so funny, I am going to let it stand on its own. Just for some quick background, Billy Tauzin is a very powerful congressman from Louisiana, you know, the state I live in. This from the Financial Times today:
"If Billy Tauzin, chairman of the House energy and commerce committee, had his way, Louisiana would have another branch of Hooters - a chain of restaurants known more for scantily clad busty waitresses than its cuisine.
But congressional Democrats and renegade Republicans last week blocked a $31bn energy bill, which included a tax incentive that would have helped build another Hooters in his state.
The 'Hooters for Polluters' energy bill was the lates example of the increasing clout of corporate lobbyists on Capitol Hill..."
